14 Selected For Face Of Black's Secret The search for the ‘Face of Black’s Secret’ make-up range took an exciting turn last Saturday, March 20, when 14 finalists were selected for the grand finale slated for April 25. After combing through hundreds of applications from all over the country in several pre-selection processes, over 40 beautiful young ladies were chosen to meet the judges for the final auditions at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel. The judges; Gifty Akasreku (Sales Manager at Berlin Investments), UK trained professional make-up artist, Jackie Donkor and showbiz reporter, Ameyaw Debrah had the arduous task of selecting the best candidates out of the lot. After the first round of questions and interactions with all delegates, the judges selected the top 24 contestants based on poise, eloquence, catwalk, skin, and general comportment. The chosen 24 went through makeup and photo-shoots to present themselves to the judges for a second look. They paraded their unique features in a quick runway presentation to the judges, who again looked out for poise, catwalk, photo presence and general appeal. After serious deliberations, the judges decided to choose 14 finalists instead of 10 based on the diverse qualities that each of the contestants had. The 14 finalists are Sermira Adams, Pamela Ashiabor, Grace Sarfo, Ada Nsitem, Geraldine Partington, Nyarkoa Darko-Ampem, Jasmine Nkrumah, Deidre Makin-Q, Genevieve Cooper Naa Yaa, Antionette Lady Arko, Princess Maame Ama Safo, Chantell Dapaah, Whitney Asamoah, and Mawuena Ama Anthony. The Winner gets a brand New Kia Cerato Saloon car (Official Car) for use for 1 year, 6,000GHC yearly allowance, Black’s Secret products for a year, 1 year brand endorsement contract and other fantastic prizes from sponsors. The first and second runners up will receive 1500 GHC and 1000 GHC Cash respectively. All finalists will receive rewarding consolation prizes. The search, which will be sustained as an annual event has a social and commercial dimension. The social dimension seeks to educate young women on beauty with fun and entertainment and most importantly to build confidence among today’s young Ghanaian women within the society. The commercial dimension is to ensure the event is sustained over a long period with maximum commercial relevance. The Black’s Secret Makeup brand is marketed by Berlin Investments limited international cosmetics company. The makeup range is made specifically for women of colour and seeks to provide high end quality products for everyday use.
